Can I tour your property?

Yes, we are happy to provide tours to interested groups. Please email reservations@houstonzen.org to schedule an appointment.

How many people can your center sleep?

ACZRC can accommodate approximately 42 people over three residential buildings. Camping is also available on the grounds.

Is there a minimum amount of participants required to book a retreat?

Yes, the minimum amount to book a retreat is 10 participants. Should the number fall below 10 participants prior to the event, a group can either cancel their event or pay the required minimum amount.

Is your center available to book for single day use?

At this time, we do not offer single day use rental.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Cancellations must be made by email at reservations@houstonzen.org. ACZRC will confirm the cancellation within 24 hours.

In the event of cancellations, refunds are as follows:

60 days prior to event, full refund

30 days prior to event, 50% refund

No refund will be issued for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the start of the event.

Do you rent to multiple groups at the same time?

Only one group can rent our center at a time and use of the property and facilities will be available only to that group for the duration of their rental.

What does your center provide and what do I need to bring?

ACZRC provides each participant of a retreat with a fitted sheet, top sheet, blanket and pillow. Hand soap and toilet paper are provided in each bathroom. Participants need to bring their own toiletries such as towels, wash clothes, shampoos, conditioners and any comfort items they prefer.

The kitchen at ACZRC is stocked with all the necessary cooking equipment needed for groups to prepare meals and snacks. Coffee urns are also available for use by groups. We provide dishes, utensils and drinking glasses. Group organizers are responsible for food, snacks, meal preparations and containers for left overs.

Will I be charged the full amount for participants who choose to stay the night elsewhere?

Yes, groups are charged per participant regardless if a participant chooses to stay the night at another location.

What accessibility is available at your center?

ACZRC is located in a rural area with rustic facilities, including uneven terrain. Entrance to some facilities and within accommodations is by stair access only. We recognize this may present certain challenges to people with disabilities and mobility issues. If you have any questions regarding accessibility or anticipant a participant who may find our property a challenge, please contact us prior to your booking.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

There is currently no dedicated Wi-Fi at ACZRC. However, we do provide hotspots that allow groups to access the internet via phone, laptop, or tablet.

Do you provide food services?

No, groups must provide their own food and prepare their own meals.

Can I bring an RV or trailer?

Yes, there is room for a few RV’s or trailers but there are no electric, water or sewer hookups available.

Can I make a camp fire?

No, open fires or campfires are not allowed on the property.

Can I bring a pet?

No, pets are not allowed on the property.

Are firearms allowed on the property?

No, firearms are strictly prohibited on the property.

Is smoking allowed on the property?

No, smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property or within any of the buildings.
